`automake`, `gcc`, `make`, which are packages required to build this
package, are all part of `base-devel` package, which is assumed to
be already installed when running `makepkg`.
Quoting the arch wiki at
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/PKGBUILD#makedepends :
The package base-devel is assumed to be already installed when
building with makepkg.
Dependencies of this package should not be included in makedepends array.

Upstream is going through major resync and merges and changes. The
printer ppd's got renamed, no idea if this is temporary. This package is
likely to be very volatile, as lots of stuff is happening upstream, so
here there be dragons.

Inspired by the post install file of capt-src, this gives further post
install instructions to (hopefully) get your printer working.
