Hello,

I just registered to post this comment.

I'm trying to get the new version of aws-workspace work in Nix, without luck.

You can find the thread of the progress at: https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/344875

I'll follow the progress here if any, let's collaborate to fix this thing :)

Same, I use it daily too and will happily test and report.

@janek: I'm happy to test a new PKGBUILD based on WSP in advance - I use this daily so I'm looking to a working solution with minimal downtime due to dependencies missing.

It's been more than a year. The idea of splitting to two versions sounds good. Until that's done, this should be flagged as outdated, because that's what it is.

WSP is a newer protocol introduced by Amazon specifically for Amazon WorkSpaces. It is designed to be more adaptive to different network conditions and offer better performance under various circumstances.

@dbGIS & stilvoid: as explained earlier, I haven't found a way yet to get PCoIP to work on Arch with one of the more recent 2024.x releases. Thats why I haven't updated the package yet.
I think I will soon create a new package for the legacy, PCoIP compatible version 4.7.0 and update this package to the latest 2024.x release, which will support WSP but break PCoIP.

If someone found a way to support both WSP & PCoIP please let me know (the focal release does contain PCoIP support but I didn't find a way to get it to work on Arch Linux)

There is a new workspace client that supports WSP. The release targeting focal supports both PCoIP and WSP and is currently at version 2024.0.4707. The release targeting jammy supports WSP only and is currently at version 2024.0.4661.

4.7.0.4312 does seem to be the latest version published on the Workspaces website https://clients.amazonworkspaces.com/linux-install

I'm getting OLD_CLIENT_VERSION too. I really hope that the maintainer will have some free time to update this as I don't know how to do it.

Hello,

I am getting a "OLD_CLIENT_VERSION" error when trying to login. I have the most recent version of the package installed. Any ideas?

[ERR] WorkSpacesClient.Common.UseCases.CommonGateways.WsBroker.PerformResourceAction.AllocateResourceResponse Error. Code: OLD_CLIENT_VERSION; Message: Client version is too old.; Type: com.amazonaws.wsbrokerservice#InvalidInputException
