Please check if there's actually a new version for Linux available before flagging this package. The version numbers for Windows and Linux are different.

Thank you Comminux, adding GDK_BACKEND=x11 fixes the issue crashing on Browse files, and other graphical stuff.

edit: Still crashing. This is the trace, it appeares to be something with glib

If your remote PC window is displayed in half the screen inside the window, try replacing the Exec line in /usr/share/applications/anydesk.desktop with "Exec=env GDK_BACKEND=x11 /usr/bin/anydesk %u" (without quotes).

Hi all. I know this may not be the right place for this, but Anydesk does not officially supports linux and I have no where to turn to. I have the below issue, maybe anyone has come across it and may help. If not, thanx for taking the time to read it.

I have a setup Arch linux x64 latest LTS kernel. Using lightdm-greeter and lightdm with X11 with resolution 1920x1080 set on both. Have installed anydesk-bin from AUR. Unattended access is set with password using the Unattended Access profile. Service starts ok and when I try to connect while on the login screen I get the "Connection in Progress. Please wait" message and then Session Closed -> Status: desk_rt_ipc_error. 1 in 10 attempts it shows the screen, thus I cannot pinpoint the exact issue. Logs show that this occurs while "Requesting a session at the backend." and then it fails. While I am logged in it works ok. I don't know if this is relevant but the time on the logs is 2 hours behind my local time. Can you help pinpoint this issue? I can provide logs and screenshots if needed, I have ssh access to the system.

Connection crashes when trying to "Browse Files".

Anybody with the same problem?

edit: adding "GDK_BACKEND=x11" to environment variables fixes the issue.

appmenu-gtk-module being installed results in a failure to launch. Maybe it should be added to conflicts.

@Powerless Please post logs. This is not enough information to help you.

@Mthw Ok thanks for confirming. I was hoping that would do it and I don't need to investigate it further.
Would be happy if someone could send a diff to fix the bug in the package

Mthw commented on 2024-04-23 12:22 (UTC)

@D3SOX no, it has not. I still have to edit dconf to be able to start the app.
