Thanks for picking up on this package. Just wondering about the hard dependency on jre7. Things work just fine with jdk8, which is my default java environment, yet I'm forced to install a java runtime environment that I don't even use...

How about getting rid of the unneeded *.bat files? find "${pkgdir}"/opt/atlassian-jira/bin -name '*.bat' -type f -exec rm "{}" \;

Do you have those errors by any chance?

I describe my experience as a jira-beginner. After install package there were errors in terminal: some commands from jira.install do not execute. Launched them: # useradd-r jira # chown-R jira:jira /opt/atlassian-jira/ You also need to set JAVA_HOME (or JRE_HOME) and JIRA_HOME file /etc/conf.d/jira. JAVA_HOME value I learned from command $ echo $JAVA_HOME' (/opt/java/ for myself) and directory JIRA_HOME created himself and set its owner jira: # chown jira:jira <jira_home_directory> Launched jira: # systemctl start jira Further looked into the /opt/atlassian-jira/conf/server.xml for server port - 8080 and opened a page in the browser 'localhost:8080' Fin.

6.1.5 had issues working with OpenJDK, so we have to use the Oracle one. FYI.
