Using an AUR helper such as yay to build packages including backintime is HIGHLY discouraged. The recommended build method is to use a clean chroot. See: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/DeveloperWiki:Building_in_a_clean_chroot

I wrote a script that automates much of that called clean-chroot-manager offered here in the AUR.

Please stop posting build failures because you insist on building with yay or other AUR helpers.

Use makepkg. AUR helpers tend to cause more problems than they solve...

I get the following message when trying to install backintime

:: no results found for phonon-qt4-backend (dependency tree: phonon-qt4 phonon-qt4-backend)

How can I fix that? I found no way to install phonon-qt4-backend

Thanks a lot to icedaddy for not only reporting the problem upstream but actually pointing out the solution (https://github.com/bit-team/backintime/issues/805). The proposed modification of sshtools.py works for me as well.

I see the same issue as tamas. I backup over SSH and this error has occurred with me after the recent update of sshfs to 3.2.0. Downgrading sshfs (to 3.0.0) fixes the issue.
