In order to get rid of annoying update messages at startup, go into Tools > Options > Interface > Start. Disable the 'Check for latest version" and 'Auto download updates' options.

Also disable 'Enable plugin update checking' in Tools > Options > Plugins > Plugin Update.

No idea what distro you're on, but "Exec=biglybt %U" works fine on Arch.

What doesn't start? The app? Installation? You tried without Yaourt?

Error message: "Failed to execute child process “/tmp/yaourt-tmp-moss/aur-biglybt/src/biglybt/biglybt” (No such file or directory)"

For a fix:

path of the app: which biglybt

Now edit BiglyBT item in your application menu accordingly.
