@ua4000, how did you get it working? It worked for me from MS Win 11 and Manjaro, but I don't understand what's wrong with EndeavourOS now. Thanks!

Thanks for the Package!
You have a hard coded mv of the lpd/x86_64/* files - I suggest to update arch=('i686' 'x86_64') to match this.
The wiki Packaging Brother printer drivers suggest to install both, LPR driver and the CUPS wrapper - this package installs only the LPR, right ? The wrapper is not required ? The wiki also proposes to install multilib packages such as a 32 bit version of glibc (lib32-glibc)... this is not required for this printer, right ? I checked the rpm brother files, all are 64 bit ones, but the rpm package states i386, so I'm confused.
Sorry for asking a lot, I don't get my j1200 printing, scanning works (brscan/AUR), but no error in cups, but also no paper is coming out. Yours is working ? Any additional packages installed ? Maybe from older printers in the past ?

Edit, got the printer working now.
Also I figured out, Brother rpm package contains both, LPR driver and the CUPS wrapper - the description on the brother download page seems to be misleading. multilib is for this package not required.
I made following changes in the install: - PKGBUILD: changed: arch=('x86_64') - to match installing only x86_64 - PKGBUILD: removed: fix_lp.patch - for me not required ? - brother-dcpj1200w.install: systemctl restart cups.service - cups service was renamed some time ago
"DCPJ1200W" is then added automatically to cups, no need to use the add printer on cups webpage.
And to make the Scanner part work with sane: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/brscan5
