After much work I was able to install this printer.
I modified the PKGBUILD as a new cupswrapper (1.3.0) is out.

After installing I add a printer ipp://10.0.1.115 (My local address for the printer)
Install brother-bradmin-light [AUR]
Then I have to open BRAdminLight and double click on the device. Authenticate the device using "initpass" and I can finally print a test page.
Previously the furthist I could get is "Processing - Rendering completed" prior to authenticating.
My guess is that current printing tools do not have authentication capabilities built in for whatever authentication method it is trying to link up.

There's no way this needs rpmextract at runtime. It doesn't even need it at build time.
