The author of bar renamed the software to lemonbar. I merged AUR packages accordingly. Please also reflect that change in your PKGBUILD. It is now called `lemonbar-git`.

You must disable the *strip* option: https://gist.github.com/baskerville/5687612

I was trying the create a local package with debugging symbols on it, but there's something I dont understand. I added make debug to line 7 (make debug PREFIX=/usr), then if I go to the src directory, and check the generated files: gdb src/bspwm-git/bspc: Reading symbols from src/bspwm/bspc...done. But if I look for the one in the pkg directory: Reading symbols from pkg/bspwm-git/usr/bin/bspc...(no debugging symbols found)...done. Of course after installing the package, it still says that I don't have the debugging symbols since that make install step is just copying the files.... unless that I'm missing something from the autotools or makpkg inner workings, I don't get it. what is happening?

So if we make install bspwm using the old ./configure, make and make install methods, the documentation and examples are still not installed in /usr/share/doc folder? Interesting. I will take a look at the make file. And maybe send a pull request.

The Makefile should handle this, not the PKGBUILD.

I have also noticed that the documentation and examples are not copied in /usr/share/doc/bspwm/

Perhaps you should make the PKGBUILD move the bspwm-session and bspwm.desktop to the proper places.

`makepkg -A`

Had to add armv6h to the PKGBUILD to work on a raspberry pi rev. B

Right, thanks, I forgot to upload the new version. The dependency is going to be removed soon though.
