I also can't reproduce this. I am pretty sure it is related to the experimental plugins. - Is your libpng12 up to date? - Have you tried a clean rebuild? - Try building without the "EXPERIMENTAL_PLUGINS=true" part

works for me™ (allright I told upstream about it and he fixed it). Please report such bugs upstream, this is definitely not a fault of the aur package. If it worked outside you did use different options or something like that.

I also noticed that the source compiles when downloaded directly from the git repo but fails when the dependencies of this package are installed.

@nlehmann: I can reproduce this, but errors in the codebase are better reported in the Carla issue tracker on Github.
