Here's a patch to get things building again:

NOTE: I built this in a clean chroot, it's quite possible that yarn will cache files somewhere in your home directly (probably in ~/.yarn).

The project is not build. They began to use yarn.

For those wondering why extensions don't work, read the very top of the pkgbuild. Also in the middle there's a memory setting you possibly need to uncomment.

Oh so Microsoft literally broke it themselves? That's fine then, but unexpected.

This package builds from the tip of the master branch in git... Sometimes that means it will be broken upstream. It looks like it worked yesterday, and is broken now -- I expect it will be fixed again at some point. There's not much I can do about that unfortunately :/

I've backported several fixes from the stable (visual-studio-code-oss) package... Let me know if you still have problems with the updated PKGBUILD.

The way git describe works is that it uses the name of the most recent tag reachable from the current tip. Therefore, despite the '1.1.0.insider...' name, it's closer to 1.10.0 (master) than 1.1.0
