@sithlord48 I can adapt the versioning to use release number as a tweak number so it'll be more correct with the upstream (although this is implicitly not recommended by package guidelines)

The commit revision at the end is mandatory for -git packages, so it has to stay.

The version will now look like this: 1.17.1.29.g937813c

Hello the version here should be updated with

git describe --long | sed 's/-/./g;s/v//g' | grep -o '^[0-9].[0-9].[0-9].[0-9]'

this is how its done in project now.

Well, pkgconf is part of base-devel group and is expected for any package: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Arch_User_Repository#Getting_started
