Thanks for finding out. I incremented the pkgrel for both eng-fra and fra-eng.

Well, in this case, I think that the content differs.
For instance, I have:

I am very convinced that only metadata (file timestamps) changed - and therefore the checksum. This at least was the case for other freedict packages which I still had the old source tarball for. Hence there is no need to update, which a changed pkgrel would indicate.
If my assumption is right (did not test), resulting packages should actually vary by the same degrees (timestamps) as those built off the older source tarball using the older PKGBUILD - provided the package is built with the same version of the freedict-tools (which I just pushed a new version to the AUR for).
