base-devel is assumed to be installed when building packages. I.e., this group's members do not need to be specified in the makedepends array. One might argue against that assumption. If you figure out all the dependencies (including in base) - by using a clean build environment - I'd be willing to add them all.

I agree that flex should be added as a dependency.

I had the same error.

You need flex package. It can be installed from base-devel package group or pacman -S flex.

To me, this does not really look like an error depiction. Though this is admittedly neither expected, nor what I get when building - which for me still works fine. Would you mind to post a little more context? As a workaround, you could always (try to) build in a clean chroot [0]. I get the error: ``` make[3]: Entering directory '/tmp/yaytmp/dict-wn/src/WordNet-3.0/src/grind' \ /bin/sh ../../ylwrap `test -f 'wnlex.l' || echo './'`wnlex.l .c grind-wnlex.c -- : ``` Is there any workaround?

EDIT: I was wrong. It was my config. Sorry. This doesn't mess anything up and works perfectly fine. This messes dict up: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=224877 So, install another dictd dictionary after you install this.

Thanks for the notification. I have added `-j1' directly to the make command. Unless any other custom make flag causes problems, they should still be allowed.

Thah commented on 2016-12-13 19:40 (UTC)

v3.1-2 fails to build with make flag j>=2. Adding | options=('!makeflags') in the PKGBUILD as suggested in man PKGBUILD fixes it.

Works fine here. Please try building in a clean chroot [0]. [0] https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/DeveloperWiki:Building_in_a_Clean_Chroot
