No, please don't add these to the makedepends array. According warning that is reiterated on the PKGBUILD wiki page [1] "Warning: The group base-devel is assumed to be already installed when building with makepkg. Members of "base-devel" should not be included in makedepends arrays." [1] https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pkgbuild#makedepends

This package also requires the following: automake autoconf pkg-config to build. Yea, they are all in base-devel, but not everyone installs the whole thing.

Yes, because the archive indeed does not contain a git repository. How did you get that error? What did you do? If you like, you can hit me up on jabber and discuss this.

Is it OK that there is fatal: Not a git repository (or any parent up to mount point /tmp) Stopping at filesystem boundary (GIT_DISCOVERY_ACROSS_FILESYSTEM not set). amidst the build log, but the package still seems to build? Also the build doesn't seem to respect CFLAGS/CXXFLAGS from /etc/makepkg.conf.

Sorry, I made a simple error.. :$

emmocks: I just tested the PKGUILD here and it works fine. I guess it's somewhere on your installation, that causes the problems.

emmocks: Please specify what exactly is broken.
