I've been adding a bunch of emacs packages recently, and I've been installing the .el and .elc files under /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/{pkgname}. Both methods work the same but I find that using the subdirs makes things a bit tidier. I've also been dropping the "-el" from package names if it's included in the git repo name. We should probably settle on some standards and create an "Emacs Package Guidelines" page on the wiki. Thoughts?
