Please update the package to depend on epson-inkjet-printer-filter, which gives the benefit of installing the filter (and the watermark files) once to a proper system-wide location and then installing just the libraries and data for the specific model drivers. This saves space, build time, and adheres more to the Arch packaging guidelines.

You have two options:

  1. Copy the PKGBUILD from one of my packages, such as epson-inkjet-printer-201207w, and modify only the model, description, and source URL.

  2. Make me a co-maintainer, and I can implement the changes myself.

I have already applied this update to ~118 packages and have received positive feedback regarding their functionality.

It seems that Epson changed some configuration in their server, which rejects the default curl user agent when accessing these old driver files. I managed to work around it by adding -A "Mozilla/5.0\ (X11;\ Linux\ x86_64;\ rv:132.0)\ Gecko/20100101\ Firefox/132.0" (for example) under http/s to the DLAGENTS section in the .makepkg.conf file.

I'll try to update the PKGBUILD to the 1.0.1 version of the driver which Epson now offers on their website. This one can be downloaded as usual and even compiles without the need for patching :D

Packagebuild still works if you use this workaround:

Otherwise you might encounter problems building the driver

Cheers!
