@aaronrancsik Will it work fine if i'm on arch linux lts kernel 5.15.25-1 ??

aaronrancsik commented on 2022-02-28 15:55 (UTC)

@prakash2033 I really do not suggest to downgrade your kernel..

Only latest Ubuntu LTS 's kernel versions are supported officially.

However evdi-git AUR package is works "mostly fine" with the latest kernel.

I get below error while installing evdi

ERROR: Missing 5.16.11-arch1-1 kernel modules tree for module evdi/1.10.0

Is it because i'm on higher kerner version than what is supported by evdi. Do I need to downgrade my kernel version to make it work? Which lts kernel version is supported by evdi 1.10.0?

@deimosfr I have the same error :-(

1.10 is intended for using with displaylink 5.5, which is still in beta. So right now this package is out of sync with its displaylink counterpart. https://github.com/DisplayLink/evdi/issues/338

Hi, Am I the only one having this issue?

Evdi doesn't work anymore with latest kernel version.

UPDATE: reverting to commit 'd6b28414a4ceb41a904077318b48fa8a7d8981d1' worked for me as mentioned here https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/evdi-git/

@francoism90 Well it's a good question :) Now I do. Thank you! :)

francoism90 commented on 2021-12-05 16:24 (UTC)

@aaronrancsik Why aren't you using evdi-git?

aaronrancsik commented on 2021-12-05 14:16 (UTC)

@nktnet You are welcome. On upstream a proper fix has been made.

But they don't published a new release yet.

More information can be found here: https://github.com/DisplayLink/evdi/issues/308

I updated my fork-package to use the upstream latest.

Thanks @aaronrancsik, 'UPDATE' works for me :).
