yo need to modify the /usr/bin/extratermqt file and change the 2nd line to /opt/extratermqt/extratermqt you have to be root to modify the file

I've tried to install this package but keep getting this error upon trying to run the executable:

/usr/bin/extratermqt: line 2: /opt/extraterm/extraterm: No such file or directory

I tried to make a symlink to the 'opt' directory but I got the "file already exists" error when attempting to make the link. So what is one to do ?

I have also attempted to build the 'git' version maintained by another user but that build fails. I wrote to them on the appropriate AUR page but as yet have received no reply. So, for the moment, I cannot use either package properly.

Any ideas about why this thing builds but doesn't run properly?

0.58.0 has got cool new features (say, "Autocomplete based on the screen contents"). Any chance to update?

@FredBezies you'll need to either

  • remove all the leading spaces of these lines (not only one), or
  • replace them with tabs and do : install ... <<-END instead of <<END

Thx for the package anyways. [EDIT] ...and for fixing this :) Cheers !

Can you please remove the starting spaces of the executable in the PKGBUILD? the ones before #!/usr/bin/bash and /opt/extraterm/extraterm.

They make the file not executable and I have to remove them by hand on each upgrade.

This is a binary package and as such should be called extraterm-bin. Regarding the package itself:

  1. Please remove the messages for install icons etc.

  2. The executable is useless since it has extra spaces which makes shebang not work.
