Amazing, it means I can now grab the service token from player-data.json and don't even have to ask for credentials

Could this thread be helpful in bringing it back?

Well, they added a reCAPTCHA to the login page so it's not coming back, sorry.

The login process that's required to download the game package is broken, the server replies "400 Bad Request".

Hi, the ToS were updated on Feb 22nd 2018: https://www.factorio.com/terms-of-service . Also, the LICENSE file is actually included in the archive at factorio/data/eula.txt , so it is not mandatory to ship it as an aside.

Thanks!

I could have sworn I had tried it and it had failed! It must have been that the download wasn't yet completed or a typo :)

@pancakes

  • Done :)
  • That's already the case, read the prompt message again! Passing a file path as opposed to directory is undocumented but works too.

Thanks for the updates @mickael9, great that we can "try again" now.

Could you also modify the PKGBUILD so that, when it asks: "Please provide the path to the directory containing factorio_alpha_x64_0.16.2.tar.xz or leave blank to download it using your Factorio credentials:"

  • We can use "~" for the home folder?
  • We can specify the folder instead of the file, i.e. (assuming ~ works): we could specify ~/Desktop (or ~/Desktop/) instead of ~/Desktop/factorio_alpha_x64_0.16.2.tar.xz

Oh, I see. Nevermind then :)

mickael9 commented on 2017-12-14 16:24 (UTC)

@mkaito it would require some hacks because factorio will always look into /usr/share/factorio on system-wide installs
