well, you shouldn't use $startdir/src, it's $srcdir and even better "$srcdir".

Correct, You need to update line 41 of the PKGBUILD as follows: 41 cd $startdir/${_svnmod}-build should be 41 cd $startdir/src/${_svnmod}-build now it is building fine :p

Package does not build for me because of line: cd $startdir/${_svnmod}-build - it should be srcdir instead of startdir I think - but anyway, the line isn't needed at all. Cheers.
