@simona: unfortunately, the codec2 in extra doesn't support lpcnet and therefore 2020 will be not available. Now I read a note from upstream and they are deprecating LPCnet support therefore I will probably move back to codec2 in the future. Said that, I am using both, freedv-gui and gnuradio, without any issue since they are aligned and use the same version. You just need to install codec2-lpcnet that supersede the extra version.

make usable with codec2 the same as gnuradio?

Is the package ready to be updated?

@alexf91 Thanks for your reply. Bad decision of codec2 maintainer to put freedv to the conflicts array... And nice to hear that you are still working on this package and already started with ideas. I like freedv and work often with it.

@df8oe I know, but there are a few things I have to think about before updating. The update adds a new mode, which can only be used with codec2 built with LPCNet support.

I will also rename the package to freedv-gui. The maintainer of the codec2 package pointed out that FreeDV sometimes refers to the API in the codec2 library and added freedv to the conflicts array of codec2.

Codec2 is now updated :)...

The package is out of date, but the update is blocked by codec2 in the community repository. I will update it as soon as codec2 is updated.
