@MountainX and @RobbeR49

Thanks for your answers and sorry for my late reaction. I've added my comment on your issue on Github, and I see the same behaviour as you, even with the songtree theme.

@ignami, I just ran into the same issue. In my case it seems layout/theme related with Shimmer and my custom layouts causing the segfault. Running a standard layout, e.g.

gmusicbrowser -l songtree

worked as a temporary workaround.

*edit there's still some additional issues, I'm getting segfaults when clicking on parts of the interface no matter what layout I'm using.

@ignami - Sorry to hear of your troubles & hoping I don't encounter the same. You can open an issue here:

If I experience the same problems, I'll comment at the same open issue.

After a system upgrade, my gmb instance cannot start anymore, crashing with a "segmentation fault". I tried to rebuild gmusicbrowser-git, to remove the .cache/gmusicbrowser, even to start with an empty .config/gmusicbrowser, but nothing help. As the project doesn't seem very active, I don't know where to find help.

I suspect it is related with GTK3, but actually I don't know.

consider changing the optdepends for mpg321 to mpg123.

I am not able to build AUR (en) - mpg321

Also, mpg123 has a new release on 2021-09-06 17:26 UTC, while mpg321 was last updated 2012-03-25.

The license is no longer an issue:

mpg123 - Wikipedia

In 2006, a new maintainer started work towards the release of a new official mpg123 package. After several security rollup releases in the 0.6.x series, version 1.0 was released in 2007 under the LGPLv2.1

Some optdepend updates with the GTK3 port:

perl-gtk2-notify -> libnotify: support for notify plugin

perl-gtk2-trayicon -> libappindicator-gtk3: appindicator plugin

perl-gnome2-wnck -> libwnck3: titlebar plugin support

perl-gtk2-webkit -> webkit2gtk: alternative web-based plugin support

squentin has published the first port to GTK3 to master \o/ See: https://github.com/squentin/gmusicbrowser/issues/57#issuecomment-636359209

It seems to be working fine for me, I just replaced the gtk2-perl dep with perl-gtk3.

It builds fine for me. Unflagging unless you've got something more specific that's wrong with it.

PhotonX commented on 2017-03-08 12:00 (UTC)

Doesn't build because package() is missing.

perl-glib-object-introspection added - and by the way, it is really out of date. I built the most recent version 0.027 and tested with that. Everything worked fine with gstreamer-1.x packages only.
