gnome-shell 48 is now available in extra. Is it possible to update this extension "back" to 48.

Thanks

@EvaristeGalois11, thanks for the quick reaction.

You're right @inVader I erroneously pushed the new version out of habit.

I downgraded the package to version 47 and I'll wait until gnome-shell 48 lands in the official repo to upgrade to version 48, thank you for promptly reporting the problem!

This extension stopped working after a recent full system upgrade:

gnome-shell 1:47.5-1
gnome-shell-extensions 47.4-1

These are the latest versions from "extra", last upadted on March 3 and February 5, respectively.

gnome-shell-extension-no-overview 48-1

The extension manager marks the plugin as erroneous, saying:

"The installed version of this extension (999) is incompatible with the current version of GNOME (undefined). The extension has been disabled."

Downgrading gnome-shell-extension-no-overview back to 47-1, i.e. matching the current version of gnome-shell from the official repos resolves the problem.

I think this package should not be upgraded to 48-1 until there is a matching release of gnome-shell in extra.

Thank you for updating and maintaining the package :)

Sure @Veldora, I think this is a small enough package that doesn't need an official release and we can just pick the commit we prefer. Thank you for notifying me!

Maintainer merged a commit, which enables support for gnome-shell 46. I've tested it on my machine and it seems to work so far.

Is it possible to edit the PKGBUILD to aim for the commit

ee39498381be118c7ce9bf6d3ffd5b43649597ef

instead of waiting for the tar.gz?

According to the maintainer they'll wait for Ubuntu to update gnome-shell to 46, which could take a while. (Possibly w. Ubuntu 24.04 LTS)

Thank you @Misaka13514 for pointing that out, I had no idea that this type of migration was ongoing. I'll update my other packages too just to be safe.
