lto1: fatal error: bytecode stream in file ‘build/folding.o’ generated with LTO version 12.0 instead of the expected 13.0

Try a clean GoldenDict build.

I have just fully upgrade my arch linux system, and after rebuilding goldendict, then I got this error. Anyone can help me?

linking goldendict

lto1: fatal error: bytecode stream in file ‘build/folding.o’ generated with LTO version 12.0 instead of the expected 13.0

compilation terminated.

lto-wrapper: fatal error: g++ returned 1 exit status

/usr/bin/ld: error: lto-wrapper failed

collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status

make: *** [Makefile:807: goldendict] Error 1

@ihipop Please read the previous comments first. Not only the goldendict needs rebuilding.

ihipop commented on 2023-07-20 03:33 (UTC)

it seems that archlinux replaced icu-72 with icu-73

I can neither run goldendict ( goldendict: error while loading shared libraries: libicuuc.so.72: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory ) nor reinstall it (build failed)

qt5-webkit is in AUR. you need to download and rebuild that manually.

@TheExplorer qt5-webkit has already removed from official repo. If you are using any unoffical repo, just contact those maintainers.

TheExplorer commented on 2023-06-29 17:17 (UTC)

@Universebenzene I see. Thank you. Or should I wait until it is rebuilt in the repos? Or it won't?

@TheExplorer Nothing should be needed for the packager to fix. You just need to rebuild your qt5-webkit, then rebuild goldendict.
