Thanks. Just to list it here, the full answer is on the github page: https://github.com/squalou/google-chat-linux/issues/37

With this tip and update, it now works perfectly!

Hi @gerson There is an 'hidden' option. Press Alt to reveal top menu, then go in 'View' menu, tick 'Hide in windowslist when minimized'. Should work.

Also, keep in mind that I'm not sure how gnome handles systray these days. I've tried my best to make the app appear in systray when you have appropriate gnome plugin (can't remember its name right now), but I cannot easily test it.

Let me know if it works for you.

on Gnome, when I close it goes to the taskbar instead of tray. So it takes space on the taskbar and shows up in ALT+TAB, which is cumbersome. Is there a workaround to really close to tray?

Hi @terrigan you may want to try 0.5.7-3 Go in the menu (hit "Alt" to display it), and choose "use temporary third party auth mode" (kind of cryptic, sorry).

It should allow you to login.

Then, you can set back to normal until next loging probably

Don't hesitate to fill an issue in upstream package on github, I'll have a look then

Google seemingly has blocked the Electron browser you rolled into this app and sadly it no longer works past the email entry screen.
