The python-django-tagging package I'm using is at https://github.com/archlinuxcn/repo/tree/master/archlinuxcn/python-django-tagging.

I don't really know if the web interface of graphite works or not. I only use its API part (and have my graphs in Grafana). I used to use graphite-api but that one is even older and beyond repair.

And the last released version of graphite-web (v1.1.10 from May 2022) also wants python-django < 4.

I see.

Do you also have a working PKGBUILD for an updated / patched fork of python-django-tagging that works with Django 4 / Django 5?

Original upstream of python-django-tagging is abandoned since 2020 and supports only Django 3.

Also no one seems to have ever tried to use it off of AUR.

I tried in past. Now I have my own modifications based on this one.

It is not compatible with current python-django v4, first released in 2021.

Upstream has not actually been developed for years (apart from meaningless cosmetic / metadata / readme / CI commits contributed by third parties via PR's).

Latest Django version is v5.0.4, and Arch/extra/python-django is already flagged as OOD.

Not useful to keep this abandonware.

Also no one seems to have ever tried to use it off of AUR.

made it compatible with python3.12 with implementing importlib changes. It's amazing to me upstream is completely standing still on this issue!

@marsseed can you keep the chatter to a minimal please? Just functional/breaking changes please. Thanks!

Also please don't use pip for installation. It is not allowed by Arch Python package guidelines, and also pip itself complains that is should not be run as root.

Please use python-installer for the same purpose, as shown here.

Please kindly remove python-flask-cache and python-raven from optdepends: they are is defunct, and no longer used by graphite-web's current version (1.1.10).

graphite-web is now compatible with pyparsing 3.

<deleted-account> commented on 2022-02-23 13:46 (UTC)

python-pyparsing (2.4.7-6 -> 3.0.0-1) breaks the rendering. For now I am unsure what to do next to downgrading pyparsing.
