@zoorat: I deleted my previous comment, I didn't mean to be rude.

Other than creating an issue like I mentioned, maybe it's time to find a better AUR helper like Yay or Paru.

@yochananmarqos yes you can say that because git command and browser will redirect to https://github.com/srevinsaju/guiscrcpy.git to https://github.com/srevinsaju/guiscrcpy

but not by github api. it will say the repo does not exists. open those in browser and see the output please with git: https://api.github.com/repos/srevinsaju/guiscrcpy.git/releases/latest without git: https://api.github.com/repos/srevinsaju/guiscrcpy/releases/latest

i was just asking to make the link without .git in the end. like this git+https://github.com/srevinsaju/guiscrcpy#commit=c2171446f8c72c31e6711d9ca918adb185c7b103?signed. which is the real one...

if you want, do it or dont ... ask me if you have any question

@zoorat: Look at the Git Clone URL at the top of this page. Notice it ends in .git? Open an issue with aur-out-of-date, it has nothing to do with this package.

@yochananmarqos https://github.com/simon04/aur-out-of-date command parses the repo link and request on github api but for your url it creates https://api.github.com/repos/srevinsaju/guiscrcpy.git/releases/latest but like browser or git the api does not redirect to https://api.github.com/repos/srevinsaju/guiscrcpy/releases/latest...

thats why i was asking to make the url the real one...

@zoorat: What "out of date utility"? Almost every VCS package uses the same source format. It's your utility that needs a change to support it.

zoorat commented on 2021-12-04 09:43 (UTC)

hey @yochananmarqos thanks for maintaining this package

but can you change source from srevinsaju/guiscrcpy.git to srevinsaju/guiscrcpy ?? my out of date utility is trying to get using that via api but api does not redirect like browser or git...

@yochananmarqos Thank you! It complained about missing pyqt5 when trying to open the settings dialog, so I ultimately went with that instead of pyside2.

@warigan: This program first looks for pyside2 then looks for python-pyqt5 if it can't find it as in your error output. You have neither installed.

They're both optional dependencies of python-qtpy, you can use either. I use python-pyqt5 and do not have pyside2 installed at all.
