Not that I require this application, but another maintainer commented on python2-notify that they were able to find a mirror for that package's source.

So in theory this one can be made to work as well, if the former gets fixed.

Is this legacy tool still needed?

python2-notify's source has been deleted from its hosting. And it is not available on PyPI either.

So currently this package cannot be installed and used.

But I would think there are working alternatives to this application. So I, for one, would not keep it any longer in AUR.
