@ngoonee, I've seen this as well on occasion. Using
rm -rf /home/user/.local/share/i4j_jres
seems to fix it.ngoonee commented on 2022-03-05 03:28 (UTC) (edited on 2022-03-05 03:29 (UTC) by ngoonee)

Anyone else getting this?

The fact that 10.14.1b was released almost immediately after this was updated...

The pre-built packages are no longer published due to GitHub Releases renaming files containing a colon (
:
). The pre-built package filenames now contain a colon following the introduction ofepoch
toPKGBUILD
. I have contacted GitHub support about this but do not expect they will modify the approach given it's such an unusual requirement.benalexau commented on 2021-10-22 01:18 (UTC)
@sakaru, thank you for the suggestion re the epoch. I have added this to the PKGBUILD in commit b2838ae.
Regarding the pre-built packages, I use these myself and simply provide a link to them in case people have trouble building locally and/or are in a hurry. Those releases are built by GitHub Actions every Sunday. Each release at https://github.com/benalexau/aur-repo/releases confirms the author as "github-actions" and the actual workflow file can be inspected at https://github.com/benalexau/aur-repo/blob/master/.github/workflows/repo.yaml. I don't expect people to use these binaries; they're just provided in case they are of assistance.

There is a solution for the upstream version changing in a way that doesn't follow semantic versioning; Increment epoch (default=0). Think of it as a "master" version number. However this new epoch value will have to be permanently set to that higher value for the package. So use it with caution.
I was wondering why this package hadn't seen an update in an unusually long time, then came to this page and saw that the version number system changed without an epoch bump.
Also regarding pre-built packages: These builds aren't reproducible, so there is no easy way to verify that the pre-built packages aren't modified. While I may trust the packager, I certainly won't use pre-built packages for software that manages an investment account.

Hey, yep I might try from your repo thanks!
Regarding the error :
The failure is with 'tws-10.10.2e-standalone-linux-x64.sh' it says one or more files aren't valid. I guess the sha256sums doesn't match... I don't really know how to investigate this error further :-/
benalexau commented on 2021-08-25 08:14 (UTC)
@LIL, I cannot do much about the version number as it's determined by Interactive Brokers. They decided to name this new version 10.x after the prior version being 985...
Regarding the invalid file error, can you provide more details?
FYI I just installed ib-tws from my automatically maintained binary package repository:
If you wanted to try this yourself just append the following to /etc/pacman.conf:

Hello @benalexau Thanks for the maintenance of this package ! There is a problem when installing version 10.10.2e-1 (which appeared as an older version than the previous one in pacman by the way), an error message indicates that some files are not valid. Cheers!
