@begin-theadventu you are confusing itch and itch-setup which are 2 different things

I've been using the
itch
package since fasterthanlime updated it in 2018, disowning this one.silentnoodle commented on 2020-08-11 19:20 (UTC)
The package would now need to install the npm packages to build correctly.

Just seeing this now! I updated both the
kitch
anditch
PKGBUILDs to use itch-setup, since this is the recommended way to install itch as of v25.Those PKGBUILDs create /usr/bin/itch (a script) and /usr/bin/itch-setup (the golang binary), and also /usr/share/applications/io.itch.itch.desktop - the launcher script calls '--prefer-launch', so startup is fast. You might want to check them out!

I'm just running the installer every time to start the client. That works, but it apparently verifies the client files which takes some time (half a second or so), and I'm not sure if its the intended use of the installer.
The installer also says it won't create a .desktop file since its running from /usr, which is fine for me since I don't use them anyway.
