@TrialnError, thanks for your suggestions. I've move the pacakge to /usr and added the USE_SYSTEM_* settings you suggested.

Ah And two suggestions (Maybe just occuring, because I install into /usr) Julia now creates zlib, which conflicts with the repo one (so adding USE_SYSTEM_ZLIB=1 should be added) And it conflicts the glpk package if you have installed octave So, probably adding USE_SYSTEM_GLPK=1 or a conflicts/provides entry into the pkgbuild

I'm wondering why is it installed into usr/local? Any particular reason for that?

@onefire, there is no release of julia as of now, but you could certainly provide a binary package of "stable" snapshots every now and then.

How about a binary package for Julia? I think that it would be useful for people who cannot/do not want to build it from source. It should be easy to do it (I could even do it myself).

Version 20120713-1 uses the system FFTW library (as suggested by oniram)

<deleted-account> commented on 2012-07-13 14:37 (UTC)

Since fftw has been added as a dependency, we should tell julia to use it: - USE_SYSTEM_FFTW=0 \ + USE_SYSTEM_FFTW=1 \

I had to manually remove the installed julia-git package before installing the updated version.

Missing FFTW library dependency. Using 'pacman -S fftw' if it happens.

Thanks for all the help, I've updated the package.
