@aquatic7 both packages are the same, and lots of packages on the AUR do this as well:
komorebi
compiles the application in your machine, whilekomorebi-bin
installs a pre-compiled package in your system. From the application perspective, there's no difference. Generally speaking, *-bin packages are faster to install as there's no need to compile anything.@husam212 was the maintainer of this package as well, but later disowned it, so I adopted it.

@Ev1lbl0w ah ok I'm sorry. I wasn't sure if it was a bug with the application itself. Another question. There are two this application, the other one: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/komorebi-bin
Which to use? Any differences? I can see that @husam212 is the submitter of this one and also the submitter and maintainer on the other one? That's confusing. Are both the same and uptodate?

@aquatic7 please don't report problems with the application to the package maintainers; always report them to the developers of the application (https://github.com/Komorebi-Fork/komorebi/issues).

Komorebi won't start. Get the following error.

(komorebi:53666): Gdk-ERROR **: 19:48:49.367: The program 'komorebi' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'GLXBadDrawable'. (Details: serial 589 error_code 160 request_code 152 (GLX) minor_code 29) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the GDK_SYNCHRONIZE environment variable to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) Trace/breakpoint trap (core dumped)

Hi @husam212, could you update this repo to version v2.2.0? We've released a tag for it (https://github.com/Komorebi-Fork/komorebi/tree/v2.2.0)
Ev1lbl0w commented on 2020-07-30 20:16 (UTC)
Hi, just to let you know we're preparing a new v2.2 release shortly which, on the packaging side, switched the build system from CMake to Meson, and finally fixes the weird MacOS-like folder structure.

It's crashing, if you use it with more than one monitor. That issue is alredy partially fixed. When you compile it by yourself you can use --single-screen, but it isn't included in the latest release.

Thanks @laichiaheng, I switched it to the maintained fork.

There is a fork of this project that has included the patches, and it is still maintained. https://github.com/Komorebi-Fork/komorebi
Would you switch to this one?

@laichiaheng the last update to this application was in July 2018 according to the git repo. I personally don't think there's any point in making a git package for this until there's an update :)
