Provide some specifics, like the error(s) you're getting.

Jesus Christ they HAD to break it.

I don't want to do this in some goofy manner and downgrade everything, I just need to find a way to make it work.

I genuinely have a G15 keyboard, thought that nobody would do whatever on packages since that keyboard is pretty old BUT nope.

Any help or UPGRADING would be kindly appreciated.

You're lying. You stole the project out of being a spoiled child. You broke the package by downgrading to a very old release and now the old bugs are back. The only thing arbitrary here is your behavior and lack of knowledge to fix the issues, now we're stuck with packages with old bugs? I rather stop using arch if AUR moderation permits this kind of arbitrary behavior.

You'll need to edit the PKGBUILD for g15daemon.

Remove the arbitrary version requirement for libg15render, change the source version to 3.0.4a, and SKIP or update the sha512sum.

The source repository deleted the 3.0.4 release and tag.

Builds successfully with this libg15render and libg15 from aur.

With your latest change, the version number went backwards, from 3.0.5a to 1.3.1. This requires the epoch (https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/PKGBUILD#epoch) to be increased.

Also, this change breaks g15daemon, which requires libg15render>=3.0.

Source repository was archived, and based on the recent history I have moved this to a more reliable source.

I actually did propose a patch for both this and libg15.

However, there is no record of that as you deleted all the conversation related to it.

@vivnet Do you actually intend to maintain this package (and the other ones related to it) or not? Regardless of what the situation is, adopting a package to purposely not maintain it isn't an acceptable behavior.

Please, either maintain the packages properly or disown them if you don't actually have any interest in maintaining them.

If no actions are taken on your side in a reasonable time (meaning either update the packages to their latest version or disowning them if you don't intend to maintain them), I'll remove you as the maintainer for those.

The "official upstream" was last updated in 2011 and doesn't have support for many things, not to mention the entire adaption to newer libs, things that doesn't exist on the old repos for the same reason. Instead of proposing a patch, you decided to troll a package in AUR, and even worse, you just adopted to cry like a child without doing anything about it, letting the package rot and unsupported, just like a brat. There's people using this package and you're not helping, I suggest you fork and make your own modifications, or just stop being a child.

Removes features available in the official upstream repository and rebrands as an updated version. Though the last time I diff'ed the code it was only feature subtractions and white space.

Official upstream: https://sourceforge.net/p/g15tools/code/HEAD/tree/trunk/

This is what Fedora, Debian, etc, use.
