@huyz please kindly rename and reupload this package as 'libva-nvidia-driver-git', to avoid causing confusion to users and to align with existing Arch naming patterns.

@pcooper This is the latest git commit version, versus the latest tagged release.

How is this different from libva-nvidia-driver? Since both are the same upstream repo & same project? Also the number of dependencies for this is huge, compared to libva-nvidia-driver.

please add libva-vdpau-driver* conflicts. (possibly provides? libva-vdpau-driver-shadow-nvidia | its used in several apps needing vaapi)

There's no need to depend on the git version of fnvcodec-headers since 11.1.5.1-1 was released.

AV1 support is enabled by default now, -Dav1=true is no longer an option, please remove it.

pobrn commented on 2022-01-11 15:48 (UTC)

cuda is no longer needed to build it.

please add ffnvcodec-headers-git as a dependency

I will not add this conflict in this package. Because they're actually different driver.

openglfreak is right (and I know he knows what he's talking about). It doesn't matter if they're different drivers, they both install the same file. The symlink in libva-vdpau-driver-vp9-git exists for a reason, forcing users to switch back and forth with LIBVA_DRIVER_NAME= is all the more reason to have these packages conflict.

None of this really matters anymore, since these packages do conflict because the maintainer of libva-vdpau-driver-vp9-git added it as one.
