@gatlinnewhouse
I fixed the issue, it seems there was a problem with my makepkg.cfg

trying to compile this now causes my computer to freeze, drop out of the x server and go back to the vt login screen (and my configs automatically log me in) and just sit there, fans spinning inconsistently

@graysky
You could rebase http://ck.kolivas.org/patches/5.0/5.0/5.0-ck1/patches/0002-Fix-Werror-build-failure-in-tools.patch against 5.0.6

CK1 needs to be tweaked to patch into 5.0.6 it seems...
Can someone post to CK's blog?

Hello graysky, I use to patch the local copy of the PKGBUILD to allow the currently running config (/proc/config) to be used as base config so maybe it can be useful to merge it ?

Seems like the ck patchset needs a tweak: http://ck-hack.blogspot.com/2018/12/linux-420-ck1-muqss-version-0185-for.html?showComment=1550063841657#c3680780559065276989
Testing now and will push 4.20.10-2 if successful.
