Hello. I am using awesomeWM regularly on my Arch workstation and laptop, so I can try to maintain this package. I don't have such an experience, but maybe it is a good place to start with.

Seems like the maintainers of this package are cursed! I've also started moving away from using awesomeWM (decided to switch to i3). I'm still happy to maintain this package, but I'll have to rely on you guys to let me know if there's any problems with it. Of course, if someone who uses awesomeWM more regularly would like to maintain the package, I'm happy to transfer ownership!

Hey @ZeekSpin! Thanks for the advice! I looked through the wiki pages on maintaining an AUR package so I think I got it mostly figured out. I already pushed an update after adding git to the build-time dependencies. I know you should technically already have git installed in order to acquire the PKGBUILD, but other *-git packages that I looked at seemed to include it in the dependencies, so I figured that I should too. Namcap also suggested that I add it.

Hi @jasper1378! The creator of lua-pam hasn't added new features since 2020, so my main job was to just fix any breakage that occurred when AwesomeWM updated its lua version requirement. As I moved away from AwesomeWM, I could no longer test updates to this package. The most maintaining that I did was fixing the build commands inside the PKGBUILD if a user reported that the package wasn't building. I would then run makepkg -si to make sure the package built and installed correctly. If the package worked correctly, I ran makepkg --printsrcinfo > .SRCINFO. Then I committed and pushed the PKGBUILD and .SRCINFO files to the AUR. You'll have to clone the repo to this package before you can make changes to it, but I'm sure you already configured AUR access.

Hope this helps. It seems like a lot steps, but it's not that bad. I'm not an expert at maintaining packages but I managed with this one. Let me know if you any other questions!

Hello all. It seems that I'll be maintaining this package from now on. I'm new to this, so please feel free to reach out if you're having any issues with the package.

@ZeekSpin I don't really know anything about maintaining a package, but if you could give a quick rundown on what's involved and how it works, I'd be happy to do it.

I find myself not using Awesome WM anymore and I'm thinking of disowning the package within the next month or so. Please let me know if any of you would like to take over as a maintainer.

@FreddyMaster, I updated the lua dependency to 5.4, but my personal config for awesome is borked at the moment, so I can't verify the change. Let me know if you are still running into issues.

I am getting a Lua core version mismatch. It seems that the recent update to awesome-wm-git which recently switched to lua version 504 has made this package incompatible with this package.

@ZeekSpin Works perfectly, thanks!
