Solution can be found in this topic (a corrupt file in .icons/default in your home directory) : https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=215758

Last night I wanted to try out the lumina desktop. After a first succesfull first start, I tried to re-login and I couldn't. So I went back to my current installed desktop (KDE plasma 7.5.3) only to find out that almost every application that requires input crashes ! I retried in XFCE4 and found something similar : xcfe4-terminal would not start. What I get in dmesg is : xfce4-terminal[12606]: segfault at 7fff84f85ff8 ip 00007f4992f08d17 sp 00007fff84f85ff0 error 6 in libc-2.24.so[7f4992e90000+195000] And I am not the only one : https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=216068 I de-installed the lumina desktop but the problem remained. I searched in my config files but could not detect anything. If I login from another user in XFCE4, everything works !? What can be the cause of this ?

Lumina users: I apologize profusely for the delay in updating this package. There was a bug in the script I was using to upload my PKGBUILDS to the AUR which has since been fixed. I am very sorry for the inconvenience. The build should be working now. Please let me know if there are any other problems. Sincerely, crossroads1112 (x-post from lumina-desktop-git comments)

FredBezies: I was about to flag it myself as I agree it has been out of date and unusable for too long. I've updated the gist to the current 1.0.0 Release with Patchset 1 for anyone interested.

Thanks WoefulDerelict. By the way 1.0.0 is out. https://lumina-desktop.org/version-1-0-0-released/ This PKGBUILD is kinda useless. Flag it to be orphaned.

An example of the workaround proposed by FredBezies applied to the PKGBUILD and updated resources to build the current beta of lumina can be found here: https://gist.github.com/WoefulDerelict/d4c4f947d5d51da3b43258f31f1e05ea Updated for 1.0.0 Release - Patchset 1 on 09-08-2016

gcc6 workaround : qmake QMAKE_CFLAGS_ISYSTEM= PREFIX="/usr" QT5LIBDIR=/usr/lib/qt make https://github.com/trueos/lumina/issues/226
