The pkgrel in the source prefix does not make sense, sources change only with pkgver and not pkgrel. As it is now, users will have to download the same source again with each pkgrel bump.

Please change "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/marp-team/marp-cli/master/LICENSE" in the source array to something like "marp-cli-LICENSE::https://raw.githubusercontent.com/marp-team/marp-cli/master/LICENSE". See the warning in https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/PKGBUILD#source

Can you test with a browser other than Google Chrome 117 by installing the beta or Canary version ?

You can use marp-cli with another browser by running the following command: $ CHROME_PATH=$(which <chrome variant>) marp <args>

As soon as possible, I will look for a workaround.

On the recent version of marp-cli-bin I get:

[ ERROR ] Failed converting Markdown. (Protocol error (Target.setAutoAttach): Target closed

UPD: this is the issue related to Chromium 117.x. Rolling back to 116.x helps.

I've been trying to mail the current maintainer but the address attached to their profile doesn't exist. This might explain why they're not getting any notice. I'm submitting an orphan request.

The upstream URL https://github.com/yhatt/marp posted the following in their README: "But recently, we received a serious security report for outdated app. By opening a malicious Markdown, an attacker can execute arbitrary code through remote. We are responsible for saving users from malicious. If you are currently using Marp app, please stop using as soon as possible and migrate into well-maintained Marp Next tools."

The Marp Next tools break up the functionality of the app into several smaller apps, namely https://github.com/marp-team/marp-cli and https://github.com/marp-team/marp-web

I'm creating a new AUR package called marp-cli-bin that installs the files in https://github.com/marp-team/marp-cli/releases and submitting a request that this package be merged into that one or deleted.
