The source code moved from GitHub to Codeberg. I've pushed up a new PKGBUILD that builds correctly. Note that this package primarily exists because it's a prereq of the author's notes tool.

This repo and github user doesnt exist anymore,

Therefore this PKGBUILD doesnt even build anymore.

I have already searched github and could not find any other forks or alternatives. There are other clones and copies of "md2roff" on github but they are hopelessly outdated and unmaitained (2017)

Please either update this PKGBUILD with another reliable modern source. Or just press the button to ask for it to be removed from the AUR

There is no need to keep an obsolete tool in the AUR. It only confuses and wastes the time of users searching for these tools.

Remember that there are countless other tools to convert markdown to (man pages) groff. Pandoc also does this job. Scdoc is a very nice simple similar tool for this job.

Search the AUR for "markdown man page"

Some are even in the official Arch packages:
