I tried adding mkdir -p $pkgdir$instdir/etc to the PKGBUILD with no luck, I glanced at the binary but didn't see any extremely obvious checks with my hex editor. Probably needs to be decompiled.. Creating the directory manually worked though (removed after).

create manualy directory /opt/microchip/xc8/v1.30/etc, it should help. in a few time I'll try to fix this problem.
