Thanks for updating the package.

kfg commented on 2024-10-11 20:21 (UTC)

I have changed the package over to using the MSYS2 patches so the dll is now output as libvpx-1.dll like in the MSYS2 package.

Martchus commented on 2024-10-10 09:36 (UTC)

Maybe we can apply this patch for consistency with MSYS2: https://github.com/msys2/MINGW-packages/blob/master/mingw-w64-libvpx/0001-enable-shared-on.mingw.patch

Maybe https://github.com/msys2/MINGW-packages/blob/master/mingw-w64-libvpx/0005-fix-exports.mingw.patch is also not to bad to apply.

I guess the name libvpx9.dll makes more sense in any case than the rather weird library name it currently produces. However, have you checked how MSYS2 mingw-w64 packaging handles that? Maybe they also do some patching and we could try to be consistent with them.

@hipersayan_x Is the problem only that windows can not handle the name of the dll file or is there something else wrong with it?

I adjusted the PKGBUILD and configure.patch to output the dll as libvpx$(SO_VERSION_MAJOR).dll (so libvpx9.dll currently) and uploaded the changes as a patch here: https://paste.debian.net/1331382/

Could you try if that fixes it? If that's the case I'll commit the changes and update the package.

This package is still creating an invalid dll file :/ The dll can be loaded in wine but not in windows. Can you please fix that?

vpx dll is 777, maybe you should consider installing file using "install -m755" instead of mv

this package is broken since at least 3 months, can you please fix it or disown? thanks

eimis commented on 2018-05-18 20:44 (UTC) (edited on 2018-05-18 21:01 (UTC) by eimis)

same error as drakkan when compiling for i686. "-fno-asynchronous-unwind-tables" doesn't help for i686. v1.7.0 broke i686. quick v1.6.1 PKGBUILD for static libs: https://bpaste.net/show/c133b3419930
