For a long time now WEBKIT_DISABLE_DMABUF_RENDERER=1 (default in this package) makes the app stutter a lot (it used to be a solution to stutters some time ago). Removing it from the desktop file makes the app run smoothly again.
Can confirm this on one system using AMD iGPu and one system using intel iGPU

All good on my end now (I'm using Aura). Thanks!

You just have to answer yes when yay asks you if you would like to clean build any packages

It seems that my problem was related to “yay”. I cloned the repo and ran
makepkg -si
and everything worked well :)Antti commented on 2024-10-08 15:38 (UTC)
0.8.8-4 is fixed, have you done a clean build of it ?
marvas commented on 2024-10-08 15:36 (UTC)
I can confirm that the checksum of the deb file is mismatched. The package is broken since 0.8.8-3 and is still broken with 0.8.8-4. 0.8.8-2 was the last working version.

I'm getting a mismatched checksum for https://launcher-files.modrinth.com/versions/0.8.8/linux/Modrinth%20App_0.8.8_amd64.deb.

is what I'm getting. Anyone else experiencing this?Antti commented on 2024-07-20 13:34 (UTC)
This package has now returned to using the deb source and a separate package
modrinth-app-appimage
now exists for those who feel like it runs better.Antti commented on 2024-07-19 20:15 (UTC)
Ah, somehow read over the "native" part... :p

hi @Antti, indeed it can can run in a wayland session by using xwayland automatically. (you can confirm it using the
xeyes
program from thexorg-xeyes
package, if the eyes move when you hover the app, it's running in X11) You can try forcing it to use GTK wayland backend by runningDISPLAY= ./modrinth-app_0.7.1_amd64.AppImage
, you'll get an error messagecannot open display
