The new version didn't change anything? I added the desktop-file-utils and xdg-utils packages as dependancies, thus even if they were not present, they should be there now.

@Milouse, not sure if they are already present in a KDE install. On a kubuntu on a second PC they are not defaults. And Ubuntu and such installs more packages than Arch generaly. You can launch it with DEBUG=1 ./<your molotov file> but I found nothing interesting for my Arch case.

Hello, I got the exact same problem Tommy has, the process launches but no window opens, and as Tommy I managed to make it work one month ago too. Reinstalled my cpu and since then can't get it to work, not sure what is different with my previous config... I Run Archlinux with OpenBox.

All these binary are packaged in desktop-file-utils and xdg-utils, which should already be on your system. I add them as dependancy with the new version.

Saw this in AppRun inside the package # Check whether dependencies are present in base system (we do not bundle these) # http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xdg/desktop-file-utils/ check_dep desktop-file-validate check_dep update-desktop-database check_dep desktop-file-install check_dep xdg-icon-resource check_dep xdg-mime check_dep xdg-desktop-menu Hope this helps

Yep, French too, and computers are on the same local network (Orange FTTH). Here is the package list. desktop (working): http://pastebin.com/N3VK2pSZ laptop (not working): http://pastebin.com/1V8T9Agv I'll try to contact them yeah.

No, I don't have any other deps related idea :( Maybe you should try to contact directly molotov to see if they can help you. They may refuse to answer to you as we don't use ubuntu, but this package does nothing more than putting the appimage somewhere on your harddrive. Thus if this appimage is broken for you, imho it's broken for a lot of other potential users, even on ubuntu (kubuntu, lubuntu...).

@milouse : I'm in france. So it's not geographical restrictions. I will check my network settings. Any update with missing deps that I can try this weekend?

milouse commented on 2016-10-07 11:24 (UTC)

Are you both of you using ipv6 connection or ipv4 ones ? I don't know if it's related, but as Moloto use massively web content, the absence of interface may come from a network outage due to some specificity ? I think about that as it can explain the behavior you encounter @ma2t (unless you try to run the app inside the same local network). Last thing: we speak english here... but are you both in France ? Because if you are in another country, it can be due to some location restriction.

@ma2t can you provide the list of packages installed on your desktop and laptop? With that we maybe can find the missing dependency with comparing
