Regarding the endlessly churning on "Getting Weather Data". I don't have the problem if I install as a flatpak. Posting the issue on the github forums was answered by the developer as "I've only built it for flatpak and snap but someone else can get it to work with another package manager if they wish."

...although, now it's installed but endlessly churning on "Getting Weather Data". Probably need to take that one back to the Github page though...
