@joeldjro Seems like the problem with recent Rust versions... Package cairo-sys-rs v0.18.2 requires rustc >=1.70.0, your error occurs for rustc >=1.80.0 The latest Rust version >=1.70 && <1.80 is 1.79.0.

I've forced this version in PKGBUILD. Solved :)

I am getting this error when trying to install.

error[E0282]: type annotations needed for Box<_> --> .cargo/registry/src/index.crates.io-6f17d22bba15001f/time-0.3.30/src/format_description/parse/mod.rs:83:9|

83 | let items = format_items | ^^^^^ ...

86 | Ok(items.into()) | ---- type must be known at this point |

= note: this is an inference error on crate time caused by an API change in Rust 1.80.0; update time to version >=0.3.35 by calling cargo update

Nothing that I have tried so far has been able to fix it. The installation stops at this spot.

@ignilux Oh... the sudo should not be here, thanks for vigilance!

Just tried and failed to build this package using Pamac within Manjaro (5.12.1). It would make it all the way to package(), then fail. The error message was:

ERROR: ld.so: object 'libfakeroot.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded
(cannot open shared object file): ignored.
sudo: a terminal is required to read the password; either use the -S option
to read from standard input or configure an askpass helper
sudo: a password is required
==> ERROR: A failure occurred in package().
Aborting...

Removing the sudo from line 31 of the PKGBUILD allowed it build properly.

@joshbressers Sure, update is on the way!

Can you add the aarch64 architecture to the build?

I rebuilt this package on my aarch64 system and have had zero problems, it works exactly as expected.

Thank you for the recall, meanjollies. The PKGBUILD is just updated to 1.1.0.

1.1.0 is available.
