New dependency needed: /usr/lib/octave/4.0.0/exec/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/octave-gui: error while loading shared libraries: libqscintilla2.so.12: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Installed package qscintilla and it works fine.

The better way is to install package only for your user though. Just start 'octave' and type: pkg prefix ~/.octave ~/.octave pkg install -forge symbolic And you don't need these packages any more.

Please correct depends=('octave>=3.1.55 ginac>=1.6.0') to depends=('octave>=3.1.55' 'ginac>=1.6.0')
