I have uploaded a cleaner version of the current PKGBUILD. You can get it here: http://xyne.archlinux.ca/tmp/omniorbpy/ I have not bumped the pkgrel as the built package is the same.

makedepends "python<3". Shouldn't this be set to "python2" or is it possible that it could build using an older version of python?

Solution seems to be here: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=27255 haueisen postet it there. It will install fine. I hope it will work..

Can't install it. http://aur.pastebin.com/9FpaNJXu Makedepends are python<3.0 but yaourt always reinstalls 3.0 instead of anything else. Python 2 is already installed. With makepkg it won't work too because of missing dependencies.
