@fft thanks for the update. About the python guidelines, it is recommended to do the build using PEP 517, and not setuptools. If the upstream project does not support it yet please just disregard my comment.

Update PKGBUILD. Seems problem with version was because tags '1.9.6' and 'latest' refers to same commit. 'git describe' can show any tag in such case and I had no such bug. Try to select tag, that started with digit now.
@gilcu3 can you describe violating of 'Archlinux Python package guidelines' in details? What exactly is wrong now?

Currently, after installing the package version becomes
latest.r0.g669e8ba9-1
, while it should be something starting with1.9.6
. Also, this package is not following the Archlinux Python package guidelines. @fft please fix these issues.fft commented on 2020-05-12 19:54 (UTC)
NB: this is *-git package, it use .deb only for one special file (that usually not changed from version to version).
So it's real version correspond to master state of open numismat repo, not to the version, that shown in AUR. See more: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/42618/whats-up-with-git-date-packages-in-the-aur
