For what it's worth, it all works on another machine on mine so nothing is wrong with your pkgbuild :)

I had already used namcap, it didn't really provide any helpful info. Unless you can find something helpful in this output:

You could try asking in #openra on Freenode. They're generally quite helpful and willing to help out with issues like this.

openra-raclassic-git fails building as well, and I wasn't able to build KKnD manually either, not quite sure where this leaves me :P
Could you run
namcap
on the created package, maybe it can shine some light on this.fusion809 commented on 2020-06-12 16:41 (UTC)
One further thing I'd like to try is for you to build KKnD manually. If your build of it is successful, then clearly it's my package that is at fault, but if your build fails then it is likely a bizarre upstream issue. If you want me to tell how to build KKnD manually just run:
and simply wait for whether you get the same error or not.

Our systems are clearly very determined not to act like one another. I just built the package using makechrootpkg without a problem. Have you tried building other mods I've packaged (e.g. openra-raclassic-git)? Maybe this issue isn't just limited to this package.

I am using proper Arch Linux x86_64, fully updated, the command is provided by devtools. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/DeveloperWiki:Building_in_a_clean_chroot

How do I get that package? A search of the repos and AUR using yay yielded no results. Are you using Manjaro? A DuckDuckGo search seems to suggest it's a Manjaro-specific tool.

it also fails in a chroot, please try using mkchrootpkg

Then, assuming your system is up to date (i.e. you frequently run pacman -Syu), I must admit I don't know how to fix this issue. Largely because I can't reproduce it.
